Maxcess, a producer of slitting, winding, tension and guiding products for the web handling industry based in Oklahoma City, USA, was recognized for Tidland’s Blade Sharpening System with the 2012 Technology of the Year award from the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL).

AIMCAL stated that the Blade Sharpening System turns an arduous chore into an easily accomplished task. “This new technology is simply a way to better serve our customers, so we designed it to be extremely safe and easy to use,” says Peter Wood, Global Product Manager for Tidland Slitting. “With a push of a button, we’re enabling maintenance or production departments to quickly and easily sharpen blades in-house, eliminating the need to send blades out for regrind or sharpening.”
