Norbert Höltker, managing director of Graute GmbH from Coesfeld, Germany, and Holger Meyer, sales director of the company, which specialises in nonwovens lines, have caused quite a sensation in the slitting and winding industry. On 1 July 2014, the managing partners have introduced Winder Works GmbH with headquarters in Graulinster, Luxembourg. The business is already active, thanks to remarkably well-filled order books.

During a grand opening ceremony Höltker and Meyer gave C2 an exclusive insight into the goals and the portfolio of the new machinery company and presented their team consisting of nine employees. The two entrepreneurs expect very attractive synergies through the cooperation between the sister companies Graute and Winder Works. "Graute is one of the global leaders in carding web machinery. By complementing the portfolio with slitting and winding lines by Winder Works, we will from now on offer our customers a unique line competence," claims Höltker.

Meyer, who is well-known in the industry from his former positions at slitting and winding machinery companies, adds: "From day one, Winder Works is perfectly positioned thanks to its expert team, which boasts outstanding experience in slitting and winding machinery construction. We will use this expertise and not only offer lines for the processing of nonwovens, but also for films, laminates, composites and paper. We are already close to completing sales negotations with several renowned customers from the film and foil industry.

From its headquarters in Graulinster, Winder Works will be responsible for the complete construction and development of slitting and winding machines, which will then be manufactured at the Graute site in Coesfeld. The two managing directors intend to establish own manufacturing capacities in Luxembourg. Accordingly the number of employees at Winder Works is expected to grow significantly within the next few months. The Graute site in Coesfeld is reported to be upgraded with a new administrative building.
